Kenny's big announcement

I just realized that it has been over two months since my last Bragg Family South post, and that is too long!  It is not that we haven't been doing things, but time just happened to get away from me...and I wasn't quite a huge shutterbug.  Oh well...time to catch up.  Kenny's big announcement, as you can see from the picture above, is that he has decided to follow in our footsteps, and plans to attend Michigan Tech in the fall of 2020 with an anthropology/archeology major!

Below, Kenny recently helped me on a volunteer day at a local archeological station (he got to sort chipped stone and tools, and I got to sort and weigh animal bones and shell):

Needless to say, we are thrilled with his choice of major and choice of college!

Our other big news over the last couple of months is that Beth got outpatient surgery to fix her tricky kneecap, which has this tendency to pop out of place at the most inopportune times.  Below, Beth and Hope immediately prior to surgery:

The surgery seemed to go very well.  Beth was very sore for several days afterwards, and is in a leg brace to limit her movement for a number of weeks.  She is also getting physical therapy to rehab her repaired knee:

She's only missed a little school, and is increasingly mobile.  The picture below shows the large brace that limits the movement of her fixed leg:

We also did a lot of the ordinary things in life these last few months, including having Stephen help me make some pasties:

Kenny and I took advantage of a nice spring day to hunt for agates and petrified wood in a creek on our hunting lease:

Hope...well, she apparently has too much free time on her hands while at work:

Below, Stephen and I worked on an archeological lesson of Hope's at a recent chapter meeting:

We did this lesson and another to "excavate" the chocolate chips out of a cookie, which Hope was going to do for a local TV station to promote Archeology Month in Arkansas (and her 4-H program)...until coronavirus pretty much shut down every event in the state...

Speaking of which, we are doing well...adapting to new realities...and hoping that the rest of 2020 isn't quite so unpredictable!
