We Survived!

Hurricane Katrina provided only a light glancing blow to Arkansas, with relatively limited rainfall and winds. We had a few brief power outages in the Monticello area, and a good soaking rain, but little else. Unfortunately, it sounds like other parts of Mississippi and Louisiana were hammered, and New Orleans and Biloxi will take a long time to recover. Our thoughts and prayers go out to those suffering in the aftermath. We had been concerned that the hurricane would cause us problems in our drive up north with a canoe strapped to the roof of our minivan, but as today dawned clear and calm, we are not worried about the impacts of this storm on our travels. We should be in Madison by Wednesday evening, and in Rhinelander as planned on Thursday, and we look forward to seeing y'all this weekend! We will post pictures of the canoe trip as soon as we can, and I hope to have some new ones of the kinds available later today.

Welcome to the Bragg Family South blog!!

Thanks to some inspiration by brother Bill, we have decided to return to the online universe in blog form! We will endeavor to keep this blog more up-to-date than we did our website, but don't expect daily posts. We will, however, use this format to post pictures of the kids more frequently, and to provide information on our travel plans to friends and family. And, please, send us feedback! Don
