Check out Stephen's new haircut! I just realized it's been a couple weeks since I posted on this blog. I guess after the big events of the Christmas/New Year's holiday, there just doesn't seem much to write on... Stephen's been advancing by leaps and bounds, and is getting better and better with his walking and language skills. We've been trying to get healthy, but it seems we're constantly battling one illness after another. The kids are back into their school routines, and I've been slugging along at work. This weekend is a long weekend for us, as today (Monday) is a federal holiday. Martin Luther King Jr. Day is also observed at Kenny's school, so we all slept in this morning. We don't have any big plans for the holiday, just some puttering around the house. Later, we'll go over to our church, and I'm planning on cutting some limbs off of some of the trees there to help with traffic flow. We'll also probably work on Kenny's ...

We've safely returned to our home in Monticello, Arkansas, after another Christmas/New Year adventure up north. Hard to believe those two weeks flew by so quickly, but they did! We started our trip by taking Kenny out of school on Friday, December 19. His class had just had their Christmas party, and since no academic work was planned for the rest of the day, we figured it would be okay to start our travels a little early. On our way up to Wisconsin, we stopped in Memphis, Tennessee to visit our dear friend and colleague Mike Shelton for a brief visit. The kids always like to run around and explore the garden in his back yard, and Mike loves to entertain our kids. We then continued northward, stopping in Mount Vernon, Illinois for a stop at a hotel and a swim in their pool. The next day we reached Madison, Wisconsin, and visited my sister Laurie, her husband Mark, and their two purebred hunting dogs, Mingo and Lily.
