Fall frolics

How's this handsome young man?  Kenny proudly displays his band uniform on Senior Recognition Night...a rather cold yet gratifying even (just look at his beaming mother!).  After 4 years of high school marching band, and 7 years total, Kenny took his last march on the Monticello High School football stadium...and will hopefully continue this on in college.

My October was travel filled, with two too many trips to Atlanta and its joyous traffic:

We also got a nice, if brief, concert from the first violinist with the Arkansas Symphony Orchestra and a piano professor from one of the state's universities:

And Beth and her classmates entertained guests as a part of the Monticello High School's spirit week:

UAM also had their homecoming football game on a gorgeous afternoon for tailgating.  Below, we watched the UAM band bring up the football team:

And here I am, back in Atlanta for the second of my trips there in October:

Thank goodness I was able to return in one piece, just  in time for pumpkin carving on the night before Halloween:

And, as I indicated, we had the joy of joining Kenny on the field for his senior recognition night:

More recently, I had a chance to visit a very pretty part of the Ozark National Forest along the Mulberry River:

The fall colors were nice (for Arkansas), and it was a crisp, gorgeous day to be in the woods looking at old shortleaf pines:

This was only part of the reason I was in northwestern Arkansas last weekend...the other was to accompany Kenny on the first of his three college visits.  Below, Kenny walks with his sister on the tour of the University of Arkansas-Fayetteville campus:

We couldn't linger in Fayetteville long, as we were expecting Bob and Nancy to come down for a whirlwind two-day visit:

We had a good time visiting and watching the Packers (a win!) and I took Bob around a bit of the UAM campus...He was impressed with this old road grader:

And he seemed to like the big trees we've got on parts of campus:

Hard to believe we are already halfway through November--2020 will be here before we know it!
